Gamay Rose bottle

Rosé 2009

Tasting Notes
Fruity aromas of strawberries compliment the crisp pink grapefruit flavour of this vibrant Rosé, made from Gamay grapes grown on the estate.
Best served chilled at 10C.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with a spicy stir-fry or a fruit salad.

"Here's a light and lively rosé that won't set you back too much, and one that's pretty unique in its make-up. One hundred per cent Gamay grapes were left on their skins for two days, yet didn't throw a lot of colour into the wine. The nose is reminiscent of my midway days, as candied apple is the majority owner of the aromas with a splash of citrus thrown in for good measure. The palate offers up a sweet- and-sour effect and the acid bite plays with a slight earthy-cranberry sensation on the finish." Michael Pinkus, The County Grapevine

Production Notes
After harvesting, the Gamay grapes were crushed and destemmed then the juice was left for two days to absorb the colour and flavours from the grape skins. This wine was aged and fermented in stainless steel tanks.
